Database of organisations that work with the older people in Serbia

We present here the report from a database that aims to give detailed information of organizations, programmes, activities and types of services that are presently delivered by citizens’ associations, non-governmental organizations that are involved in work in issues relevant to the elderly population. The database has been compiled in July 2005.

This database is a part of a project of the network of organization that work with the elderly in the nine countreis in South-East Europe. The network South East European Network (SEEN) was formed in 2003 and the members are HelpAge International, an international organization from Great Britain and 20 NGOs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldavia, Romania, Slovenia and Serbia and Montenegro. The SEEN network, whose members are organizations engaged in issues that concern the elderly, works towards eliminating discrimination among the elderly population in the South East Europe with the aim to alliviate poverty and improve the quality of life of the elderly population.

Currently, 13 organizations engaged in working with the elderly people have responded to the questionnaire and submitted information about their work. We believe that the number of organizations working with the elderly people is much higher and that over time the database will be extended. Therefore we are inviting all interested organizations to contact us and to provide information for the database. (contact)
